Lab Workflow Management System
Skin Lab is a digital workspace designed for skincare R&D teams, bringing experiments, materials, products, research, tasks and results together in one connected system.
We explored the workflow of skincare R&D teams to understand how they manage experiments and the large amounts of information surrounding them. Our research revealed a need for one environment that brings different types of information together, preserves the connections between them, and allows researchers to move between them without losing the context of an experiment.

The periodic table inspired the visual structure of the experiment library. Its modular system allowed us to turn each experiment into an individual element, while keeping it part of a larger, organized research environment.
We built the system around the experiment as its central workspace, connecting materials, products, research, tasks, notes and results while keeping each area accessible independently.
